Launcher update URL not working/responding

Hello everyone.

I am using MU Titanium Season 16 and I have a problem with the launcher update system.
Every time I run the launcher I get the message:

"The update server is not responding or is not running right now."

I tried using FTP because the client has a config.ini file, and also tried setting it to HTTP, but nothing works.
I checked the launcher with HxD to find the update link but I didn't see any clear URL or path inside the exe.
There is also a FileServerURL.txt in the client and I changed it as well but the launcher still shows the same error.

So my question is simple:
How can I change the update URL for this launcher?
Where is the correct place to edit it?

Are you willing to share few screenshots with the root folder of the Launcher (preferably a link to download if you don't mind)? Why? I could easily guide you if I have the data in hand, many Launchers are compiled differently to be honest.

It looks like the issue you're having isn't actually coming from your config files. The launcher you're using is one of the older Awesomium-based MU launchers, and those don't read the update URL from any of the .ini files in the client folder.

On this type of launcher the update/patch URL, news page URL, and even the HTML path are all embedded directly inside the Launcher.exe itself. Because of that, changing:

FileServerURL.txt

config.ini

option.ini

Config-Dev.ini

MU.ini

won't have any effect at all. The launcher simply ignores them.

That's also why you didn't find any readable URL when checking the EXE in HxD. The update address isn't stored as plain text and can't be edited externally. If the embedded URL no longer exists or isn't reachable, the launcher will always show:

"Navigation to the webpage was cancelled"
and
"The update server is not responding or is not running right now."

Since the update URL is hardcoded, the only practical fix is to replace the launcher with a different one that has a configurable settings file (Louis Launcher, MultiLauncher, or any of the newer MuEMU/IGC launchers). Your current launcher can't be reconfigured for a new patch server.

In short:
This specific launcher can't be fixed by editing the client files. The update URL is embedded in the executable, so you'll need to switch to a newer launcher that allows configuration.
