MuDevs S21 1-2/2-3 License Server Emulator

Started by Phantasm, Aug 04, 2026, 08:15 PM

Hello there,

Sharing with you a 100% compatible License Server for MuDevs Season 21 Part 1-2 and Part 2-3 (not sure).

Before anything else, I'd like to thank the different people who helped me throughout this research. Whether it was by sharing information, discussing ideas, or simply pointing me in the right direction, they all contributed in one way or another. I won't mention anyone by name unless they explicitly ask me to.

What's included in this release?
QuoteMuDevLicenseEmulator v1.1.1 (latest version and probably my last release for this project).

Trust Client S21 Part 1-2.

MuDevs PREMIUM S21 Server.

MuDevLicenseEmulator v1.1.1

The emulator is provided completely unpacked and unobfuscated. There are no protectors, packers, or anything hidden. I'd say almost anyone, especially with today's AI tools, can inspect the code, understand how it works, and even create their own revisions. If it's not too much to ask... please don't remove my name from the credits.

I'll also be publishing the source code on GitHub soon in case someone from the community wants to fork the project and continue maintaining or improving it. There isn't much magic behind it—almost the entire project lives in a single source file.

I'd also like to make one thing very clear: this application does not modify files, inject code, install drivers, or perform any suspicious actions. Its only purpose is to intercept the license server communication and reply with a valid license response. If you're unsure, feel free to inspect the source code and verify everything yourself. You still need to edit your host file.

Trust Client S21 Part 1-2

A compatible client is included with this release.

At the moment, MuDevs still relies on the CustomerName value as part of its license validation. This means the CustomerName must match exactly on both the client and the server.

The included client already comes with a main.devs configured using CustomerName 511. All you need to do is change the server IP and configure the same CustomerName on your server.

As usual, the Version, Serial, and any other client settings must also match the server configuration.

If you generate a new main.devs file later, don't forget to update the server configuration as well so both sides continue using the same values.

The server configuration is basically the same as any other mu server. You'll only need to change a few IP addresses and not much else. There's really nothing complicated about it.
With this configuration, I was able to connect and stay online for more than 6 hours without any issues. So far, I haven't encountered any problems.
That said, there are probably better ways to configure it, so don't treat these settings as the only or "correct" way to do it. Time will tell as more people test and refine the setup.

Also included as a little bonus is a script to read and write any main.devs file. It was the same tool I used throughout the research process.
If anyone feels like building a native Windows application around it, that would be awesome.

The goal has been accomplished.

I'd really like to see the community keep sharing and releasing new things whenever possible. This game was a big part of my teenage years, just like it was for many of you. I hope this release helps others learn, build new projects, and keep the community moving forward.

There's still plenty to discover, improve, and share. Hopefully this is just another step that encourages more people to contribute.

Enjoy, and make good use of it.

MuServer Installation

1. Initial Setup

Open the MuServer configuration and modify the following information:

Configure your server's IP address.
In Customer Name, enter:
511.

Important: It is not necessary to modify the Hardware ID.

2. Create the Databases

Create the following databases in SQL Server:

MuOnline
BattleCore

3. Run the SQL Scripts

Inside the MuServer folder, you will find a folder called DB.

Run the two SQL scripts included there:

Script for MuOnline
Script for BattleCore

4. Create the ODBC

Connections Before starting the server, create all the necessary ODBC connections.

5. Start the License Emulator

Before opening any server executable, run:

License Emulator

Once open, you can start normally:

ConnectServer
DataServer
GameServer
and the rest of the executables.

Recommendation: Add the License Emulator to the Startup so that it runs automatically every time you start the server.

Note: The License Emulator plays music automatically. You can disable it if you wish.

Client Setup

1. Extract the client

Extract the client completely to the folder where you will use it.

2. Copy the Launcher

Extract the contents of the Launcher and copy all its files into the client folder, replacing existing files if necessary.

3. Configure Main.dev

Open the Main.devs Editor.

Locate the main.dev file within the client.
Open it with the editor.
Modify all the necessary data for your server (IP, ports, name, etc.).
Save the changes.

Once all steps are completed:

Run the License Emulator.
Launch all the MuServer executables.
Open the Launcher.
Start the game and verify that you can connect correctly.

Quick summary:

Download all files.
Configure IP and Customer Name = 511.
Create the MuOnline and BattleCore databases.
Run the SQL scripts.
Create the ODBC connections.
Run the License Emulator.
Start the MuServer.
Extract the client.
Copy the Launcher into the client.
Edit the main.dev file with the Main.devs Editor.
Open the Launcher and play.

MuDevsLicEmulator 1.1.1 is completely compatible with player cap 9999 and requires a launcher for the season. Simply look for one already there.
Additionally, your server files must be configured with customerName = 511. Enjoy.

Hi! I managed to install the server files and get the server running properly.

The problem now is with the client. I tried using the original TrustMU client and edited the main.devs to point to 127.0.0.1:44405, but I found out that this client uses its own redirection/AntiCheat system. The Main.exe first tries to connect to localhost:55232, and the launcher/AntiCheat then redirects the connection to the public TrustMU server. Because of this, simply editing the main.devs is not enough to make this client work directly with my local server.

I then tried to download the client provided with your server files, but it is hosted on MEGA. The file is around 2 GB, while my MEGA transfer quota is limited to approximately 1.5 GB, so the download gets interrupted and I have to wait several hours before I can continue.

Would it be possible for you to upload the client to another hosting service, preferably Google Drive?

That way, I can test the proper client that is compatible with your server files.

Thank you!

I have put another link with all the files by the end of the text.

You have to generate .devs using MuDevLicenseEmulator and put it on client folder in order to work.

Added another quick guide for installation + additional download links.

Problems Found While Configuring MuServer Season 21

During the installation and configuration of the server, I encountered several issues that were not clearly explained in the package.

1. Database and ODBC

The server was configured to look for:

EXDataServerODBC = MuOnlineS21
EXDataServerPort = 55981

Therefore, it was necessary to:

Create the database with the name MuOnlineS21;
Create an ODBC data source with the same name: MuOnlineS21;
Check all ODBC-related fields in the server configuration files;
Fix internal references in the SQL scripts that were still using MuOnline.
2. Client Serial and Version

The server appeared normally in the server list, but the client disconnected as soon as I selected the server.

The problem was the client serial. The serial configured in the main client must be exactly the same as the serial configured in the GameServer.

It is also necessary to check:

Server IP;
Client version;
Serial;
CustomerName;
Other information used by main.devs.

After correcting the serial, the client was able to connect normally.

3. Dinorant Combination Problem

The combination of 10 Horns of Uniria and 1 Jewel of Chaos was correctly recognized by the Chaos Machine. The button appeared and the animation started, but:

No success or failure message appeared;
The ingredients were not consumed;
No Dinorant was created.

After enabling protocol logging, I was able to confirm that:

All 10 Unirias were correct and had full durability;
The Jewel of Chaos was present;
There was enough Zen;
The client correctly sent the combination request;
The GameServer received ChaosBox Mix ID 5;
The server did not process the result or record the mix in CHAOS_MIX_LOG.

Is there any way to fix the Dinorant combination issue?
