Need help identifying an item – Red Dragon EventItemBag

Started by Cioc, Yesterday at 07:18 PM

Hi everyone,

I'm running MU Server Files Season 6 Episode 3 with the Louis Emulator Update 31.

I'm looking at the file Server\Data\EventItemBag\Monster\002 - Red Dragon.txt and I'm trying to figure out exactly what item this drops. Here's the content:

0
//EventName              DropZen   ItemDropRate   ItemDropCount   SetItemDropRate   ItemDropType   Fireworks   DropInventory
"Red Dragon"             1000      100            1               0                 0              0           0
end

1
//Section   Type   MinLevel   MaxLevel   Skill   Luck   Option   Excellent
14          14     0          0          0       0      0        0
end

From what I understand, Section 14 / Type 14 should correspond to an item, but I'd like confirmation on which exact item it is. Can anyone clarify?

Thanks in advance!

The Red Dragon drops are configured through the following file:

Server\Data\EventItemBag\Monster\002 - Red Dragon.txt

Your configuration contains two sections, each serving a different purpose.

1. Event Drop Settings

0
//EventName   DropZen   ItemDropRate   ItemDropCount   SetItemDropRate   ItemDropType   Fireworks   DropInventory
"Red Dragon"  1000      100            1               0                 0              0           0
end

Here's what each setting controls:

* DropZen = 1000 – Defines the Zen drop amount.
* ItemDropRate = 100 – Controls the item drop rate. The exact probability depends on the emulator's implementation.
* ItemDropCount = 1 – Configures the event to generate one item.
* SetItemDropRate = 0 – Disables the separate Ancient/Set item drop chance.
* ItemDropType = 0 – Determines how the emulator processes the item drop.
* Fireworks = 0 – Disables the fireworks effect.
* DropInventory = 0 – Configures the item to drop on the ground rather than directly into the player's inventory.

2. Item Drop Configuration

1
//Section   Type   MinLevel   MaxLevel   Skill   Luck   Option   Excellent
14          14     0          0          0       0      0        0
end

This section defines which item the Red Dragon can drop and what attributes it will have.

* Section = 14 – Identifies the item category.
* Type = 14 – Identifies the item within that category.
* MinLevel = 0 – Minimum item level.
* MaxLevel = 0 – Maximum item level.
* Skill = 0 – No skill option.
* Luck = 0 – No Luck option.
* Option = 0 – No additional option.
* Excellent = 0 – No Excellent options.

In the standard MU Online item list, Section 14, Type 14 corresponds to Jewel of Soul.

Therefore, assuming Louis Emulator Update 31 uses the standard item definitions, your configuration is set up to generate one Jewel of Soul without additional options when the item drop is triggered.

3. How to Verify the Item

To confirm the item in your specific server files:

1. Open your server's Item.txt file.
2. Locate Section 14.
3. Find the entry with item index 14.
4. Check the item name associated with that index.

This is important because some emulator versions may contain modified item definitions.

4. How to Change the Red Dragon Drop

If you want Red Dragon to drop a different item, modify the Section and Type values in the second section of the EventItemBag file.

For example, the current entry is:

14 14 0 0 0 0 0 0

To configure another item, replace the first two values with the correct Section and Type from your server's item definitions.

You can also add multiple item entries if you want the event to select from different rewards. The actual selection behaviour depends on the emulator's EventItemBag implementation.

After saving your changes, reload the EventItemBag configuration if your emulator supports it, or restart the GameServer to ensure the updated settings are applied.

5. Testing the Drop

Once the configuration has been updated:

1. Make sure the Red Dragon event is enabled.
2. Spawn or wait for the Red Dragon.
3. Kill the monster and check the dropped item.
4. Repeat the test if necessary to confirm the drop behaviour.

If the item doesn't drop as expected, check whether the EventItemBag is being loaded correctly and whether another event configuration is overriding the rewards.

Conclusion

Based on the configuration you posted, the Red Dragon is set to generate one item identified as 14,14, which corresponds to Jewel of Soul in the standard MU Online item list.

The final item identity and exact drop probability should be verified against the Louis Emulator Update 31 server files.
